As hubby and I were on our way this morning to trim the grass at one of our listings - I wondered, who is taking care of all the absentee owner FSBO homes that sit for months and months without seeing a lawn mower? How do buyers perceive that kind of curb appeal? Does it invite vandalism? How are these homes being shown?
We did an Open House for the same listing a few weeks ago and distributed invitations in the neighborhood. As we walked the streets, we noticed quite a few vacant homes. You can spot a vacant home from miles away and the first tell tale sign is the unattended yard. Especially with all the recent rains we've had lawns are growning immensly fast and so are the weeds. Mowing once a week is the least to keep things looking nice and neat.

I live in a part of Texas that would love to have some of you alls rain....to help solve the absentee owner's dilemma's of course. In the picture above, is that a garden or weeds? It is a lot of green.....
Definetely weeds! Sondra, our lakes have been so dry, you didn't have to go to the coast anymore to lay on the beach. It made it pretty hard to sell lakefront property with the lake just looking like a rain ditch.

Well, they are kind of pretty weeds...nice and green. Sorry about the low water levels at your lakes. Maybe you will have a nice wet fall and the levels will be back to normal by next year.
